Well then, I came home to a pleasant surprise at about 6 PM. My copy of Windows 7 was here! So, I decided to give it a trial run. I hooked up my old computer.
3.2 GHz Intel - Only one core!
2 GB DDR-667 RAM
nVidia 8600GT GFX Card
A fun fact. About three years ago, that computer's motherboard got slightly burnt, and it lost a LOT of performance. In comparison, an exact replica of that computer - with intact motherboard - can run Crysis. SMOOTHLY. It was a good computer.
But yeah. Lots of performance loss. Half-Life 2 lagged like HELL. Couldn't play Counter-Strike Source, and even videos lagged sometimes! Also, it was using XP Professional.
Yeah. I installed Windows 7 on it. The difference was quickly apparent.
Just for starters, I didn't get a Blue Screen of Death. XD I quickly installed Half-Life 2 on it, and... well, yeah. I was quickly convinced.
Now, my main computer has Windows 7. Firefox no longer takes up 1.5 gigs of RAM, and Windows Explorer works again. Goodbye Vista, and hello Windows 7.
Oh. Right. I never did get around to writing those stories, did I?
